Wetrooms and Wetfloor Showers

Wet floors add luxury, style and visual appeal to a home, and provide the perfect showering space even in the smallest of areas. They create a sense of space, dedicated to luxury and relaxation plus practical level access to the showering area. Wet floors can be easily installed anywhere, from a ground floor space to a loft conversation, and their walk-through design makes them accessible to everyone.

Wetrooms require a level of care and expertise to ensure they provide a long-term showering solution. At Whytes we take the precautionary but necessary measure to fit a tanking solution beneath the wetroom tray base. This provides a failsafe to protect the subfloor and beneath, should the grout wear away. As a preventive measure we use a Kerapoxy grout for our wetrooms, this substance is much more durable than regular grout and, with the correct level of upkeep and care should not crack or discolour.

We leave a ‘Whytes Aftercare’ booklet at each project following completion, inside you’ll find information maintenance and cleaning products suitable. We also offer information on Wetroom maintenance. The advice provided by our Wetroom tray manufacturer is to ensure the tiled area is dried after use. This limits the amount of moisture left to sit on the grout which over time would break weaken and eventually break down the grout.
